Glanbia Ingredients Ireland €35m Investment Plan a Vote of Confidence in Wexford

Minister Paul Kehoe has today welcomed the announcement by Glanbia Ingredients Ireland that it is seeking planning permission for a major expansion at its Wexford Cheese Plant. The proposed €35m investment will double the capacity of the Plant, which is located on the outskirts of Wexford town.

Minister Kehoe Stated: “This extension is a vote of confidence in County Wexford, both from an enterprise and agricultural view point. The investment will secure the jobs of the 48 current employees of the plant, while creating 60-70 jobs in the construction phase”.

“Since the abolition of the milk quota last April, milk supply has increased by 22%, leading to the requirement for greater processing capacity in the country.”

“This proposal is supported by Enterprise Ireland who play a key role in supporting business in the county, for large and small companies alike. This is a demonstration of the role that Enterprise Ireland play in developing business in Ireland.  Large scale investments of this type will highlight County Wexford as a good place to do business in Ireland”.
