St Michael’s Theatre, New Ross & Wexford Arts Centre to receive €11,000 for 2016

Fine Gael TD for Wexford, Minister Paul Kehoe, has welcomed the announcement by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys that €11,039 has been allocated for St Michael’s Theatre, New Ross & Wexford Arts Centre

“This funding is being allocated as part of the Department’s Small Capital Grants Scheme to support arts groups and venues across Ireland and here in Wexford. More than 60 organisations will benefit countrywide, with maximum grants of €10,000, for innovative and creative projects to improve their efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of arts and culture to their communities.

“This small grants scheme is designed to directly support arts groups and venues in Wexford, which are so important to our cultural life.

“This funding of €8,121 for St Michael’s Theatre and €2,918 for Wexford Arts Theatre will made a huge difference.

“Local arts projects like these contribute a huge amount to the vibrancy of communities here in Wexford and across Ireland.

“This Government is committed to supporting the arts and cultural sector here in Wexford and across the country. In order to do this we must continue to grow the economy, create jobs and therefore have more money to invest in services.

“Fine Gael has a clear plan to keep the recovery going. More people in work creates the resources to cut taxes for working people and invest in better services, improving living standards for all. This will ensure more people feel the benefits of a recovering economy in their own lives.”
