Minister Paul Kehoe has welcomed the announcement this morning of two grants totalling €85,000 for County Wexford Community Workshop in Enniscorthy. Over 70 organisations across Ireland have been awarded funding of €1.2 million under the latest round of National Lottery Grants from the Department of Health.
Welcoming the announcement, Minister Kehoe said “two separate grants have been awarded – €50,000 for a pre-school and €35,000 for the extension a house. This is the second announcement this year, in which the Department of Health provides once-off grants to organisations for healthcare-related and social care services.”
A list of all successful applications is available on the Department’s website. All applications were recommended after being judged against assessment criteria. Minister Varadkar said, ‘the funding will benefit community groups and voluntary organisations which provide healthcare-related and social care services to specific client groups’.
“This funding will make a real difference to groups, volunteers and of course their clients in communities across Ireland,” Minister Varadkar said.
Minister Kehoe added, “It is important to note the value of these National Lottery Grants for the organisations in question. The grants will work towards improving the service that can be offered, providing equipment, upgrading facilities and providing health related services’.
The Department will be in contact with successful organisation in the coming days.
