50 new roles at Danone Nutricia a further show of confidence in Co Wexford – Kehoe

MINISTER PAUL KEHOE TD has welcomed the creation of 50 new jobs at the Danone Nutricia Early Life Nutrition plant at Rocklands in Wexford and said that it is further evidence of the confidence multinationals now have investing in County Wexford.

Speaking at the opening of the €26 million production line in Wexford this morning, Minister Kehoe said;

“This is a very positive development for County Wexford as the Danone Nutricia show that they have confidence in Wexford as a location to expand and develop their business. The expansion of this facility at Rocklands in Wexford will see 50 new jobs created and the recruitment process for the 50 new roles has commenced, and all roles are expected to be filled by the end of this year.

“This is the second opening of a large scale expansion of a multinational’s manufacturing facility in Co Wexford in the space of two weeks. The new Danone Nutricia production line follows the opening of the 50,000 sq ft extension to Clearstream technologies in Enniscorthy just two weeks ago”.

Minister Kehoe believes that County Wexford is continuing to benefit from a strategic plan put in place by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD for the South East:

“Three years ago the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation put in place a specific plan South East Plan to deal with unemployment problems and this has contributed to jobs growth of over 14,000 in the region in the past three years.

“It is encouraging that large reputable companies such as Danone Nutricia, Clearstream BARD, Coca Cola and Eishtec are showing such confidence in County Wexford as a base for their businesses and I hope that it will encourage others to invest in County Wexford in the coming years as the economic recover continues”.
